BCCI Announces 15-man Squad for U-19 World Cup 2024 in South Africa.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the 15-man squad for the upcoming U-19 World Cup 2024, scheduled to be held in South Africa. Uday Saharan, a talented all-rounder from Punjab, has been entrusted with the responsibility of leading the young Indian team.

Uday Saharan to Captain India in South Africa:

Saharan, who impressed with his performances in the recent domestic tournaments, has been chosen to lead the team in both the tri-series against England and South Africa starting from December 29th and the subsequent World Cup. Madhya Pradesh’s Saumy Kumar Pandey will assist him as the vice-captain.

The BCCI has also named three traveling standby players – Prem Devkar, Ansh Gosai, and Mohammad Amaan – for the tri-series. Additionally, four players – Digvijay Patil, Jayanth Goyat, P Vignesh, and Kiran Chormale – will be on standby as back-up players for the World Cup.

India’s World Cup Journey:

India, with five World Cup titles to its name, is the most successful team in U-19 cricket history. They have been placed in Group A alongside Bangladesh, Ireland, and the United States. They will begin their campaign against Bangladesh on January 20th, 2024.
