Neeraj Chopra Final at the 2022 World Championships in Athletics Live Stream Online: As always, Neeraj Chopra needed only one pitch to wrap up his day and qualify for Sunday’s final. The story awaits. Since 2009, no one has had the medals of the Olympic Games and the World Championships around their neck at the same time. Chopra, since he won junior world gold six years ago, has pampered Indian fans by winning a medal almost every time he enters a competition, with historic Olympic gold being the defining moment for Indian athletics. At Eugene, Chopra’s quest to add World Championship gold to his CV, if he succeeds, will make him one of the best ever.
Welcome to our LIVE coverage of the 2022 World Championships in Athletics javelin throw final. Javelin thrower’s second quest for gold | Neeraj Chopra, India’s top medal prospect at the 2022 World Championships in Athletics in Oregon, qualified for the men’s javelin final with a throw of 88.39m on Friday. Chopra advanced to the final achieving automatic qualification by breaking the 83.50m mark with ease on her first attempt. Neeraj, 24, was first and made sure he didn’t have to dish out a second time, and all he needed was 12 seconds to get one step closer to a possible podium finish. Olympic silver medalist Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic also joined him on the list with his first throw attempt of 85.23m. This is Chopra’s third best throw at an event this year. Last month, he broke the national record twice, the last of which was a throw of 89.94m in the Stockholm Diamond League competition. The javelin throw medal round will take place on Sunday morning and Chopra will surely be aiming for gold. Of the other 11 competitors, his biggest competition will be Granada’s Anderson Peters, who finished qualifying 1m ahead of him, and Germany’s Julian Weber, who finished 1m behind, in the second group. Chopra said he will play with a “free mind” and “perform to the best of his potential” in Oregon, where he could bring India only its second World Championship medal. Only former Indian long jumper Anju Bobby George has won a medal at the Worlds, taking bronze in Paris 2003.
