The first T20I between India and England will start at an odd time of 10:30 PM on Thursday as they will lock horns in Southampton. The match time will come at an inconvenient time for India viewers with the contest likely to last overnight.
There is a geographical gap of 4:30 hours between India and England in spring. The match will start at 6:00 PM local time. Fans are likely to turn their back on the match in the second innings with a working day on Friday in India.

Earlier the broadcasters had announced for the convenience of Indian fans by starting the Edgbaston Test match at 3:00 PM IST. However the limited-over series has seen the inconvenience return with match to last overnight. Earlier, all England Test matches would start at 3:30 PM IST.
However, this will be the only match to start at odd time, with the second and third T20I starting at 7:00 PM IST. The first two ODI matches will start at 5:30 PM IST with the third ODI in Manchester starting at 3:30 PM.
